Before vacation we visited a friendship school and read an article about a schoolday at Ponge to the children. All came eagerly to see the familiar faces. As you can see Vinkki is an international children´s magazine having readers also in Kenya!
At Ponge cultural day we spoke about our safety because of Jesus´ blood and about the mercy of holy babtism. All seemed to listen carefully. We gave schoolbooks as present, but principal got also living chickens from studets´ parents.
The highlight of summer is Leaf´s summer festival at Lahti. Theme was "At winner´s side". The amount of visitors was about 15 000. We met many friends and also new faces. Gospel comforted us all.
Midsummer we spent in Ylihärmä where Anna-Liisa lived as a child. Around us were children and grandchildren from whom the youngest in the photo. Notice the arctic dressing! We heard that at Christmas Eve there had been one degree warmer in Finland!
When returning we enjoyed the sun of Kenya´s winter. The seasons on the southern hemisphere are opposite compared to those in Finland. Views of RiftValley in the photo on the way home when Paavo is still unaware about the malaria-infection which occurred week after. Quite a nasty disease!
Room 5:9.
For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
(Romans 5:6,9 ESV)
